CIF Round Two – Our Place Through Our Eyes, Groundwork NE & Cumbria

This project provided a programme of landscape exploration and related creative activity sessions for a small group of unemployed people from Crook and surroundings. Participants were already working with Groundwork’s employment team already through the voluntary Links to Work programme.  Fifteen sessions were delivered to the group over a seven month period. Sessions included activities that took people out into their landscape, exploring the area in which they live, including guided walks and site visits, followed by related practical creative sessions where the groupwere  supported and encouraged to use inspiration from their outdoor exploration to express themselves artistically through a variety of media including craft, collage, printmaking, mark making, painting and creative writing. The precise make up of sessions was co-designed with participants.
