CIF Round Four – Remembering and Valuing Through Art, Thornley Village Hall

This project is an extension of the project started in 2018 in Round Two of the Community Initiative Fund.  It is built around the theme of “a sense of place” and this round of funding enabled the project to expand from the main medium of painting to include photography, textiles, the written word and other associated crafts.

“Remembering and Valuing Through Art” aims to capture the history and beauty of the local area through art looking at industrial heritage (railways and mining), natural beauty and the rural landscape.  Particpants were able to explore their relationship with the place where they live in more depth as well as gain a greater appreciation of their place and learn new skills.
