Geoff Freeman shares urban images of Bishop Auckland and Shildon.
Sometimes, the camera can offer insights that the passer-by misses. And Geoff has captured still moments that capture some of the beauty that can be found in our urban landscapes.
He comments, ‘ I wanted to show aspects of Bishop Auckland and Shildon that would not perhaps normally be the ones that spring to the mind’s eye. Both towns have significant industrial heritages and the photos perhaps reflect that past, and also some of the urban decline that has seeped in of recent.
I hope the photos give an insight to the areas industrial/social past and how some of that heritage is being preserved with projects such as the excellent Locomotion facility at Shildon and the regeneration of Bishop through the Ruffer initiatives.’
Thank you, Geoff for sharing these amazing photographs and allowing us to publish them here.
